I live in a very rural area of Montana so getting to shoe stores is hard. I told the shoe lady I wasn't leaving until I got a pair of shoes that fit. I spent an hr in there trying different brands. The HOKA Stinson ATR I can't wear. I felt every nub when I walked. I found out it was a trail shoe not for me. Then I saw these purple HOKA'S on the shelf, Conquest size 11 which fits true to size. The Conquest as it felt like walking on marshmallows. I worked a nursing job for straight 15 hrs in them.My feet wasn't that dead tired. My feet are flat & some what an A & B in width. I wish they made a narrow. The only con is When the shoe break's in there isn't enough Bungee cord to make it tight. I haven't cut them as they would be no good. I wish they would use the last eye in the shoe. 1 more con is that the purple tongue discoloered my white socks purple. Stain remover got it out the 1st wash. I have found myself wearing these shoes when I'm off duty as a nurse due to they don't tire my feet out. I did have to place a small lift in the heel for my back. I was an Asisc's shoe wearer for over 10+ yrs. They have changed that shoe Kayano's so much I can't wear them as they wear out & then the Ortho's start rubbibg arch.I have about 10 dead Asics shoes with hardly no wear sitting in the closet. I just got done ordering 2 more pair of these HOKA'S for work & play. I have told a friend about them. He is in nursing too. If you get a HOKA with more cushion let me know so I can try them Thanks so much.

I really wanted to like these shoes, but immediately after putting them on, the bridges of both my feet were being poked all over. I was trying to figure out what it was and, and it is from the laces which are round (bulky) and made from a hard material, the eyelets stick out as well, and on top of that the tongue is extremely thin, so no cushion there. It was super painful without even walking on them and even left imprints on my foot... :(

A physical therapist recommended this shoe when I was recovering from two tendon tears in one foot. I balked at the bulky, bright look, then I tried on the shoe. It is the best shoe for comfort and walking that I have ever had on my feet. I just bought my second pair. Thank you Hoka One One! You keep me on my feet.

I have used a stinson trail shoe from Hoka for the last year to help with recovery from a calf injury. I have suffered from problems with the joint in my big toe which was causing me to put a lot of strain on my other leg. After my recovery I have continued to wear and love the trail runners. I just purchased the conquest as I have been doing more road running of late and I love them. They are comfortable and light weight and have allowed me to be back on the road and increase my milage with out pain in my toe. I highly recommend this shoe.

                          • All-purpose Wear

I use the Hoka Conquest as my everyday, all-purpose shoe. While the only running I am physically capable of doing now is in the water (I have several fused bones in my feet from surgery to correct for torn posterior tibial tendons in both feet), I used to run, and I never ran in a shoe as fabulous as this one. I know someone who has a severe neuroma who thinks he could run another marathon in the Hokas, which tells me that this is a great shoe for runners with foot problems as well as those without. I wore Brooks shoes for years but when I discovered the Hoka Conquest I was in instantaneous shoe and foot heaven. These shoes offer more cushioning than I have ever experienced, they have the straight last I need, and they look so totally cool. I get compliments on them all the time and I feel happy when I wear them. They do run a bit large (I sized down a half size) and they are wide - not a problem for me because after all these surgeries I have wide, and flat, feet, and need space for orthotics - so someone with a narrower foot might have to wear a thicker sock. My comment on "not enough outer support" is not a criticism of the shoe; it reflects my strange feet, and I am able to get around that by adding lateral support to one orthotic. The only real con I can think of is that the bungee laces have to be cut out and cannot be used again. I would like the option of being able to use either the supplied bungee lace OR the supplied regular lace. Other than that small niggle, I am very, very happy with this shoe and will never buy another brand again.

My wife has bad knees and a previous stress fracture in her foot. A friend at the gym who also had a stress fracture highly recommended them to me for my wife. He stated they made such a difference in his foot comfort. She has always had the best and most expensive walking shoes and orthotics previously to her new pair of Conquest. The salesman placed a one inch bolt on the floor and asked her to walk over it. She had the funniest and happiest expression when she stated "What bolt". When she now puts on one of her old shoes when not taking a long walk she states OMG! Thanks Hoka because when the wife is happy, I am happy.

I tried my first Hokas last month, the Stinson Trail(see my review). I continued to run faster runs, intervals and track workouts in my minimalist shoes because I thought my Stinson Hokas were too bulky for speed workouts. Out of curiosity and because I had trouble NOT running in my Hokas, I tried the Hoka Conquests this weekend. Again, I cannot take them off. I have been running my faster runs with these shoes and I have found them to be light weight enough to run the same paces as I've run with my lighter track/trainers. Along with the light feeling, I'm also running pain free after many months and have NO back pain for the first time in six months. I am 100% satisfied if not thrilled with the Conquest Hoka Shoes and encourage those of you who like to run fast to try them out.

I broke my leg last year and was looking for a shoe to get me back out there and running without all the pain. I tried Asics shoes, which was my original favorite but they just didn't provide enough cushion and I was not able to run for long without pain. My first run in these shoes, I went for 5 miles and didn't feel anything! I was out of shape but back to loving to run again. I have gone now for 5 runs in these shoes mainly on the road and for the first time running I don't have shin splints or any pain from my tin/fib break. I did run in deep sand soft sand and hard pack sand at the beach. The shoes got wet and they did great. They were easy to clean, dried fast, and I didn't feel like I was soaking up any water while running. I will be purchasing a trail running version soon, and see how they do on the single track. I think these shoes have a lot of promise to get me over the hump of an injury. I hope they work out for the long run.

The one downside is that I have small feet. A women's 5.5 - 6 or a EU size 36, I purchased the women's size 6, which they have as a EU 37 1/2 and they are a little loose. I haven't figured out how to get the lacing just right yet, I did get a small blister on my heel. I think I will try the second pair of laces they came with to get the fit better and I have transitioned to higher socks.
